...ing she did not know how to dance, Derek (played by Swan Patrick) grew a bound while teaching Sara how to dance Hip-Hop. Sara quickly falls in love with Derek dances and gets inspired to use his dance steps into her own style of dance. With the love and support Derek gave Sara, she learns how to strengthen and gatherer all of her experiences like losing her mother, forgiving her father, and an inspiration of a new love into her dance. What makes this film so great is how the choreographers where able to mix two very different genres of dance; Contemporary Ballet and Hip-Hop and transform them both into a dance routine that help Sara reach her goal in attending Julliard dance school. Choreographing her dance routine, Sara had to train day and night to perfect her routine. Her ambition and dedication along with Derek support gave Sara the confidence to overcome her emotions and deal with her past that pulled here once away from dancing. The two different dance styles carry two different types of music background that are completely opposite from each other. Hip-Hop melodies contain a variety of different drumbeats and lyrical rhyming called “rap” which is a free flowing ideas presented by the performer. Where Ballet uses classical music a very structured melody’s and tempo’s where the instrumentalist must fallow exact notes in order to create the correct type of music and theme for the dancers. Here we find a theme of organization vs, originality where the choreographer had to find music and dance moves to satisfy fans of both styles of art. Dance movements for ballet are well organize and discipline, whereas Hip-Hop is more of a creativity by letting your body be taken over by the thumping beats or rhythmical chorus that are given in hip-Hop music. Dancing was so important in this particular film, without it there would be no development of any kind. Basically the dances develop the entire film that formed the characters feelings to the final conclusion. For example in the last ask where Sara was auditioning, Derek and Sara had an argument. Sara was easily distracted by it and was not able to perform correctly. Once Derek showed up to her audition, Sara some how magically lifted up her motivation of confidence and quickly rouse to occasion stunning the choreographers with her variation dances of both Hip-Hop and Ballet.
