...at we could get some rest before the first game. When Kyle and I got back to our room we went straight to sleep. The coaches gave us a wake-up call at 7:00 a.m. and we were very tired. Our first game was against a sorry team from Fremont, Indiana. We slaughtered them 14-3 in favor of us. About two hours later, we had to face the number one team in the country which was from Saline, Michigan. It was a close game all of the way until the sixth inning when we let them score three runs unanswered. We ended up loosing the game 5-2 but it wasn’t because they were better than us. We lost the game because we didn’t get enough sleep the night before and we were fatigued. Since it was a double elimination tournament we had a second chance to win the tournament. Since we lost we had to play again that night against the team from Cleveland, Indiana. We won against Cleveland although we were tired. This time when we got back to the hotel, we decided that we should go to sleep. The next day we only had to play one game against another team that was from Detroit. It was an easy victory for us and we had the rest of the day off to get ready for the finals against Saline. Later that night we went to play miniature golf. We were having a great time until the team from Saline showed up. They approached us and a few harsh words were said before they left. The next morning at about 1:00 p.m., we were ready for the showdown against Saline. We had to beat them twice before we could reign as district champions. I knew that the quest would not be easy. The first game started and we took an early 5-0 lead against them. They never managed to score more than three runs. The game ended with a score of 7-3.
