It is a tradition found particularly in the person of the romantic, loyal and self-sacrificing knight of old Japan, the samurai. (Turnbull, 8) I was fortunate enough to visit Japan when I was a sophomore in high school. I went with my Japanese teacher and some of my fellow students. We did a great deal of sight seeing. While I was there I was able to see many beautiful sights. Some of the most amazing sights I saw were the ancient fortresses able to withstand the hardships of time.
