From June 28, 2002 through January 31, 2003 visitors can explore the fascinating history of royal grandeur and power illustrated through artifacts, commemorative souvenirs, portraits and regalia. In honor of the Golden Jubilee of the Queen's accession and the visit to Victoria this October by Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, the Royal BC Museum presents an exhibit celebrating the province's majestic memories. Many statues of the Queen’s Beasts are displayed at the exhibit. The Beasts was said to protect the Queen’s domain from danger, each one of the beasts was said to protect an area of the United Kingdom. Such beasts are: the Red Dragon of Wales, the Lion of England, the Unicorn of Scotland, the Griffin of Edward III, the Bull of Clarence, the Lion of Mortimer, the Yale of Beaufort, the Greyhound of Richmond and the White Horse of Hanover.
