Romeo And Juliet

...hard to fill the emptiness The piece is gone and the puzzle undone That's the way it is You are beautiful no matter what they say Words won't bring you down You are beautiful in every single way Yes, words won't bring you down Don't you bring me down today... No matter what we do (no matter what we do) No matter what they say (no matter what they say) We're the song inside the tune Full of beautiful mistakes And everywhere we go (everywhere we go) The sun will always shine (sun will always shine) And tomorrow we might wake on the other side All the other times We are beautiful no matter what they say Yes, words won't bring us down We are beautiful no matter what they say Yes, words can't bring us down Don't you bring me down today Don't you bring me down today Don't you bring me down today Analysis   A. The speaker in the song “beautiful” is the singer Christina Aguilera. She is trying to tell  us that we are to consumed with what we look like. That we strive to be what people want us to be. We need to see how beautiful we all are. How we should live in our own life and not listen to what others say about us. B. The setting of this song is in a dark and lonely place. A place with dark walls, and no light. A place where people can’t see you, because they don’t want to see you. C. The song Beautiful is about learning to see what others can’t bring themselves to see. To see yourself in the beauty that you are. In the song Christina Aguilera says that “we are beautiful no matter what they say.” She tells us that we are too consumed in our doom, and the way we look. That all we care about is what people see when they look at us. The song teaches us that we don’t need to be super skinny, or super buff to fit in. Everyone is beautiful and everyone has something to give to the world. That no matter what others say, how we see ourselves should always be beautiful. Our love of ourselves should not be lowered because someone doesn’t think we are pretty, or popular. D. I find two devices in this song very effective. One is that at the beginning of the song she says “I am beautiful”, then in the next chorus she says “You are beautiful.” Then after that she begins to say “We are beautiful.” This is effective cause at first it seems like she is only talking about herself. Then she spreads the words to the listener, but then she says it to everyone who chooses to listen. This device helps the song progress. It shows that she is trying to get her word out to as many people as possible. She wants people to know that WE are beautiful, and YOU are beautiful and that SHE is beautiful. She wants everyone to feel the way that she does. To see what people go through when they are refused the right to be beautiful. The second device that is effective in the song is how she relates to the words. She doesn't just feel them, she is them. At the beginning of the song she says, “Now and then, I get insecure, from all the fame, I’m so ashamed.” This makes the song sound so real. It shows people listening, that  people do feel the same way as them. She relates to her audience. It shows truth in her words. Like she actually feels them, that she doesn’t just sing them because she is told to. Some people couldn’t admit their feelings like that. If she didn’t have this part in the song it would not be as valuable. E. This song connects to the human nature statement, sometimes in life we choose to live our lives through the vision of others. In the song Christina A...
