There were two trials that made history during the 20’s. These trials were the Sacco-Vanzetti trial and the Scopes “monkey trial”. The Sacco-Vanzetti trial was about two anarchists who were accused of pulling off a grand robbery. The Scopes monkey trial was about a substitute teacher who was accused of teaching evolution. In reality, he did not teach evolution. The punishment was a $100 fine. There were many of strange fads and fancies in the 20’s. These included flagpole sitting, and dance marathons. Dance marathons were marathons where a person danced instead of running, and a person danced until a person won or a person were disqualified. One prize at a contest for dancing the longest was $5000. Another fad was flagpole sitting. People would climb up to the tops of flagpoles, and sit there. On...
