Once at the family party her mother introduces her to handsome Mark Darcy (Collin Firth), who is a holiday party against his will and is in a bad mood and is overheard by Bridget describing her as a “verbally incontinent spinster”. At work things go better, Bridget pays attention to her new boss, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant). They exchange saucy e-mails, where Daniel writes: “You appear to have forgotten your skirt”. They begin a love affair, while Darcy circles the outskirts of her consciousness, still looking luscious but acting emotionally blocked. From this moment Bridget decides to start a new life. The first step was writing everything what has happened in the diary. Everything seems all right up to the moment she finds another woman in Daniel’s bed. Also she finds out that he lied about Darcy and was engaged. At this moment all her hopes and dreams connected with Daniel are shattered. She turns back to her previous way of life with drinking, smoking, and without man whom she loves. One day Bridget unexpectedly meets Mark Darcy (whom she hates, or thinks so) at one party, who says, that in spite of her appearance and behavior, he likes her. It is a pleasant surprise for Bridget, after what she recognizes that she also likes Mr. Darcy. There are a lot of obstacles that heroes have to overcome to be happy. Finally they understand that they can’t live without each other. The protagonist of this film Miss Miss Bridget Jones (Renee Zellwerger), single woman, who works in the office. Bridget thinks about herself that she is overweight, undersexed and inordinate woman.
