Response to ¡° Inner Ring¡±
.... He left everybody, living on a remote island, Walden Pond, he lived on his own, leading a self-sufficient life for two years. However he himself would never admit he was involved in a Inner ring called ¡°transcendentalism¡±, for which everybody consider him as one of the pioneers of transcendentalism. No Inner ring is avoidable is the reality, so our attitude toward the Inner ring is the question we should offer an answer. First of all, we should realize that the Inner rings in our lives are not necessarily bad. They may be the power to pull you out of troubles when we are confronted with difficulties. For quite a number of people, keeping a certain position in an Inner ring is the most powerful motive in his or her life. The desire for a higher position in the Inner ring very often cause people behaving wrong. Rebecca Sharp, a heroine in the novel ¡°Vanity Fair¡±, She loves the Inner ring of wealthy people and she makes a great effort to enter the upper society. She has used very means she can to reach her goal. Finally she possesses everything she wanted, she becomes one those upper classes, but obviously she owns nothing in the end of the novel, she is not happy when the story ends. Rebecca¡¯s attitude towards her aim of life gives herself so much pressure that when she is making effort toward her goal she doesn¡¯t enjoy the happiness of working. The Inner rings would do no good to suck people like Rebecca, it will only be a heavy burden that weighs on your shoulders, and derives all your happiness of working in your life. But to Robinson Crusoev, the desperation for coming back to society becomes an motive of the success in his life, which appears as an another Inner ring in the novel. Being deserted on a isolated island, Robinson Crusoe does not give in to his fate, instead he takes the advantages of his former Inner ring(Human Society), using the knowledge to survive on his own, then coming back to society, which means a great success to his experience. The different lives suggest us different attitudes towards Inner ring, a person wants to achieve success in his life, he must take advantages ...
