... needed. I am currently a group counselor for Ujima Counseling services and what I do is group counseling with African-American children. I deal with children from ages 8-15 and help them with their schoolwork or problems they deal with. 3. I would have to say my most significant leadership role would have to be what I am currently doing at Ujima. I do group counseling with kids ranging from age 8 to 15 and I assist them with their school work and I also help them deal with any problems they deal with in there lives. 4. I would like my residents to say that their year was fun and that it also was a learning experience. I understand that when people are in college they just want to have fun and go out, however I would give my residents advice on how important their schoolwork is and that having fun is secondary. I would like them to say that I was fair but strict at times, especially during finals week. 5. I would like to be a Resident Assistant because I want to get a chance to live with people from different backgrounds then me. I would like to help students with their problems because in high school I use to be a peer counselor. I know how to solve problems without they’re being a confrontation. I also would like to live for free because I don’t have a full scholarship to this school and if I were to get this position it would help me out so much. 6. For the 2003-04 academic year I probably will still be working with the Ujima counseling services, but that wouldn’t affect my work or my responsibilities to my floor. I also am apart for the Men’s Track & Field Team, but next year it wouldn’t affect my work. I have practice everyday (except Saturdays and Sundays) from 2:30pm to 5:00 or 6pm.
