... of just reading it. I could see how sperm travels to the egg. There were thousands of sperm at first, but the number decreased. The few remaining sperm try to break into and fertilize the egg. Only one succeeds and binds with the egg soon producing a zygote. During the first four days after fertilization, the zygote/ embryo moves from the ovary to the uterus. Between then and the next nine months a lot takes place. The embryo’s heart beats, eyes develop, fingers, arms, and toes form and the genitals develop. Soon the genitals are complete and the embryo is now a fetus. Then, the major organs form, hair appears, the baby moves, and its lungs and lung circulation begin to develop.
