...an excellent wrestler. In high school Colin would always place in the state wrestling competition. As our senior year was coming to an end Colin told me he was planning on going into the marine Corp. He asked if I wanted to join too. I had never really given the military much thought up to that point, but it sounded like it would be an adventure. So Colin and I went to the recruiting station and enlisted in the Marine Corp. Colin and I were scheduled to ship out to Marine Corp Recruit Depot San Diego, California on June eleventh. Unfortunately things did not go as planed. Two weeks before we suppose to ship out we were having a going away party with all of our friends at the Lake of the Ozarks. During the course of the evening I fell of the dock and cut half the skin off of one my toes. Colin being an eagle scout used extensive first aid knowledge and bandaged up my mutilated tow. The next morning it was apparent that I was going to have to go to the hospital and get stitches. Colin took me to the hospital and I got three stitches in my tow. I was then forced to set my shipping date back by two weeks. I was no longer going to be able to go with Colin to boot camp. Colin shipped out on the eleventh as planed. I shipped out on the twenty fifth of June. A month went by in boot camp and I never saw Colin’s face. It wasn’t until half way through boot camp that I actually saw Colin.
