I don’t believe that there’s a single fixed meaning to religion and for that reason my definition of religion can vary significantly from the next person’s solely based on our different life experiences. Religion concerns itself with all life because it is concerned with death, thus my personal belief is that religion is within all men. We may not all endorse it in the same manner, and I can assure that I know no two people who have, but nonetheless it is within us. Anything can be established as a religion whether it is an extremely structured establishment that separates itself from a culture or a structure that establishes extreme conformity to what is regarded as the norm in a culture. Personally, I believe that those who involve themselves in any kind of religion or belief, with the intent to go against the norm, are doomed to conform and become conformists.
