As the army began to march out of camp Henry began to worry about death and running away from the battlefield. Soon, battle breaks out, and sure enough Henry flees after a little while. After returning to camp he explains that he was separated from them and was shot. Later on Henry got another chance to prove himself in another battle. In the end, feeling honored for becoming a hero covered Henry’s shame. The book was very strange because they went as far as calling Henry a mental outcast.
