...sitate to take on projects and responsibility. During the first year of knowing Annie, I was her direct supervisor within the Target Corporation. Whenever I saw her name on the schedule for the day, I knew I could count on her enthusiasm and ability. She is a great team-motivator, always remembering the positive-side, when situations turn hectic. Annie learns quickly and is ready to share her knowledge to strengthen the team. Annie not only treats her team-members with respect, but customers as well. For these reasons, Annie was made a supervisor to replace myself. During the first weeks of her supervisory training, I saw that Annie had a strong work ethic. She was excited to learn each part of her new role. As she grew into this position, I saw her wonderful organizational and people skills develop. She was not afraid to share opinions or ideas. Each day, she presented herself as a caring, motivating and hard-working supervisor. She accomplished this while taking on more and more responsibilities. Now, as her indirect supervisor, I am still able to work with Annie a couple times a week. Her positive presence is seen throughout our store. She helps coordinate and present entire-store training and team-building sessions. Annie’s biggest influence, though, lies in her supervisory role. She is able to relate to a diverse group of team-members. Annie has a willingness to work with different types of people. She treats the adults with respect and a kind heart, but even more amazing is Annie’s ability to manage young-adults who are her peers. She juggles the role of friend and authority beautifully. Annie serves as a sounding board to them. Annie and I have spent time working with these teens in both personal and work issues. Annie’s own positive self-esteem is spread to those peers who need it, and this has made all the difference.
