Racing the full 500 miles at the Daytona 500
... to worse they would have the option to postpone the race or the Super Bowl until the next day. Daytona International Speedway has lights around the entire track, so it could be 3:00 am when they continue racing and it would be just like a night race. If anything it Buzikowski 2 would make the race more interesting, because no team would be prepared for the changing weather conditions. The fans of NASCAR pay a lot of money for their tickets and they expect to see the full race, no ticket holder pays for only half of the race so why should they only get to see half of the race. Not only is NASCAR ripping the fans of the sport off, they are also not being faithful to the sponsors who pay teams millions to display their companies names throughout the race. If they race the entire race there would be no question of who the winner should be. With the current method, the drivers have to guess when the race will be finished if it is raining. Some of the arguments they might come up with could be; some people can’t wait till the rain stops especially if it doesn’t stop till midnight or later (I think this would be the older fans of NASCAR that watch the race from their house). They don’t wait for the rain to stop at any other race, why should they for the Daytona 500. Why should the officials of NASCAR change the rules for this particular race? Also some ticket holders have to work the Monday that follows the Sunday of the Daytona 500. If there were people who argued using those statements, I could come up with some good arguments against their statements. These would be my next statements. If you are a true fan of the sport, you will wait for the race to continue, or you could at least find out who won on the news the next morning. Chances are if the race finished late Buzikowski 3 they would replay it at a later time. The Daytona 500 is the main event of NASCAR, no World Series, Super Bowl, or any other Championship Series woul...
