Such actions on the child’s part completely lowers the level of conversation in favor of the parent who may decide to put forth a consequence. A prime example of such discipline would be the child being sent to their room. For many parents, after such disrespect is put forth by their child they wont hear anything of it. On the other hand, when the parent raises their voice the child must hear it out. There is no waving the parent off to their bedroom. Stanley Horowitz’s quote does still apply because the level of conversation has hit the floor while the child must endure it. Although this example does not apply to every family, no matter what coarse of action is taken the level of conversation is still lowered. As members of the workforce we engage in many conversations concerning different aspects of the workplace.
