They are a very artsy country. Many orchestras are based out of towns and cities. Dramas and concerts are produced and shown throughout Qatar. Also, painting is very big here, and have many museums with all their gorgeous artwork. Under the conditions of a 1970 constitution, Qatar has been ruled by a Constitutional Monarchy. The family that holds absolute power is the Al Thanis. Their rule dates back since the eighteenth century. The head of state is called the emir. He is also the prime minister. An executive and judicial branches of government are included in this monarchy rule. The emir appoints a Council of Ministers and an Advisory Council to help him in making and picking laws. Although there is no legislative body in Qatar’s government, the citizens are guaranteed by constitution basic rights. The cornerstone of Qatar’s economy is Oil along with Petroleum. These are also this country’s main natural resources including natural gases. Petroleum is found on the western coast at Dukhan and off the shores of the eastern coast.
