After parents began to be impatient of criticizing again and again, they might resort to verbal or physical punishment. On the surface of it, it seems that abusing or spanking will result in the fact that children would immediately stop playing the fire or touching the electrical wire because they're fear of being punished again. However, the reason is not because children come to know what is right and what is wrong, but because they're afraid of the aftermath of punishment. Just like a piece of paper, children will keep everything in mind, whatever it is negative or positive. Abusing or spanking will have a bad influence on children. That is, they will be informed that punishment is a useful method in the life when people don't know how to resolve the problem. Worst of all, some of them will believe violence plays an important role in the life, which might lead to a possibility that they tend to use violence as a direct approach to tackle problems in the daily life after they grew up. Obviously, we ought not to use punishment as a way to discipline our children.
