...ng a soothsayer and a magician. To put out a good word for his religion, Muhammad sent letters to many different foreign leaders in many different territories. Some of these territories were Byzantine, Iran, Abyssinia, and many other lands. At the age of 49 Muhammad also became engaged to Aisha, the six year old daughter of his closest friend Abu Bakr. Three years later Aisha had her first menstrual cycle and according to Muslim religion when a girl has her first menstrual cycle she is considered an adult and can marry and have sexual relations with any man. It has been stated that Muhammad and Aisha did not have sexual intercourse until she was 14 years of age; however, this statement has not been proven and is only said by the Muslims who understandably resent having their prophet criticized. Others have brought up that she had her first child at the age of ten and her first grandchild at the age of 21. When Muhammad was 49 years old Khadijah passed away. Muhammad’s life was now in danger because the Meccans worshipped many gods while Muhammad was preaching that there was only one true God. As people came to Mecca on their annual pilgrimages to the Ka’bah, Muhammad would try and persuade tribes of men to let him go with them on their return from the pilgrimages to preach God’s word and to give him shelter, but every tribe refused violently until he met a group of men from Medina.
