However, having something better to do is just as lazy except one puts off their task for something else, such as, going to the movies and not doing the dishes. Most important I believe is negative talk to one’s self. This is when one’s inner voice talks them out of doing something, For instance, studying for an exam. Their inner voice might tell them they failed before, so why try again. Bob Bittick states that “we don’t always need to get an A” (36). At one time or another, I have used these excuses to procrastinate. First, I need to not be as lazy. It would be better for me just to do the task at hand and get it over with.
