Earplugs are used to protect the ears from the high decibel output of the machinery and gloves protect the hands, mostly from splinters, but it won’t protect them from the saw. Most workers receive these safety products from their employer but then again, the employer, by law, is responsible for your safety. Our government is also responsible for the safety of the public. We all use the same roads and automobile accidents occur when drivers are distracted or not paying attention, they happen quickly and often times there are injuries involved. As a driver you have tools to protect you when driving. One of these tools is the seat belt. When driving the law states you, and all passengers, must wear your seat belts. Seat belts help save lives by keeping the occupant in the car. When someone is ejected from a car during an accident they often become casualties. When you see an accident and help is on the scene you may see flashing lights and a sign saying “Accident Ahead”. The police and fire department have already arrived and are directing traffic and rescuing the injured. You slow down due to the cones set up in the roadway, they merge you into the next lane. Police with bright orange safety vests, swinging a flashlight, are keeping traffic flowing.
