Prayer in Schools

They feel that they have the right to freedom of religion and they feel that they should not be praying in school. Those who do not believe in God can just ignore all the religious events. Many public opinion polls have shown that a huge majority of people has favored its return since prayer has been removed from public schools. Support for school prayer has grown in recent years, and not just among conservative Christians. We are all wondering why there is a great amount of school violence taking place today in our public schools, and to many people, prayer is the solution. The decline in moral values contributes to the increase of drug abuse and violence. A student’s moral value’s is what determines their character therefore, putting prayer back in public schools can help their values to increase. Many statistics show that private schools have had an increase in students in the past few years. Public schools have gotten a bad reputation and they have been losing students to private schools because they have the presence of prayer there. Having prayer put back in public schools can increase the number of students that attend, and their reputation will not be so low.
