Poems from medieval times

...m is in the bequests. In the poem “Edward” during the bequests he curses his mother. He blames his murdering his father on her. Without this part the poem would be pointless. Some poems however, do not use the bequests; for example, “Bonny Barbara Allen” the main character is dying but does not make bequests. He only asks to see his love. Who leaves him while he is dying with out forgiving him for a fight they had. In “Get Up and Bar the Door” there were no bequests made because the poem was a humorous one. It was not intended to be dramatic. In all of the Ballads that I have just talked about, only two do not talk about making a bed. They were “Edward” and “Get Up and Bar the Door”. During that time when one said “make my bed” you would mean you are going to die or you are dying. “Get Up and Bar the Door” did not have this in it because it was a funny poem. “Lord Randall” mentioned the eating of eels. During the Medieval times if you said that you were fed eels, this would mean one was poisoned. This was the dialect that people used in those times...
