After about a week the experimental stress plant begin to change color from green to a yellowish green. As the control plant continued to grow steadily the experimental plant became more red near the bottom and more yellow in the leaves. The stem and leaves of the experimental plant also began to droop while the control plant remained rigid for the most part. After two weeks the control was in good shape while the experimental plant was nearly dead. The height of the optimal plants differed from the height of the stressed plants over time. After the stress was initiated the height of the control plant continued to grow whereas the stress plant growth slowed greatly. The stress plants grew very minimally in their second week of growth and soon after that died. However, the control plants went through a strong growth period during their second week of growth. The stress clearly had an effect on the experimental plants. 6. (3 pts) Did number of leaves on optimal vs. stressed plants differ over time? If so, how? The number of leaves on the optimal plants differed from the number of leaves on the stressed plants over time. The stress plants had more leaves than the control plants when the stress was initiated. The stress plants had less leaves than the control plants after less than a week of the stress being applied. The stress plants continued to lose leaves until it died. However, the control plants continued to grow more leaves. The stress clearly had an effect on the experimental plants. 7.
