The role of the pharmacist in healthcare is very beneficial for patients and other health care professionals. They are extremely educated professionals who work in many different settings. Some of which include, but are not limited to hospitals, neighborhood pharmacies and within the government. In order to practice as a pharmacist, one must possess a bachelors of science in pharmacy. Many people believe that pharmacists only dispense medications, 3 but this is not true, they also educate patients on medications inside their scope of knowledge. This education can be provided to health care professionals including PAs regarding new and up to date side effects, indications and contraindications on particular medications. During my interview with pharmacist Rob Marchini he declared, PAs made no additional errors on presciptions than nurse practitioners physicians or residents.
