... The third characteristic of man is self creating. This means that the human person is self created, creates who can become. The final characteristic of man is self transcending. This means that not confirmed to this time he has meaning for others, respect to the meaning of himself. Meaning good or bad. Creation is never complete until death. These characteristics belong to all philosophers who are called Existentialist. Plato and Kierkegaard were similer they were both religious thinkers from Denmark. Kierkegaard said that people take following Christ for granted, that they are only Christian in name not only spirit. He challenged the different levels of human existance. The aesthetic is the first level which means theres no commitment. Moral is the second level which means theres is no commitment to others based on duty and obligation. The final level is religious which is based on the commitment which exists to the Judaic God. Jean-Paul Saetre was a French guy similar to Descartes. Satre believed that there is no God because of the experience of the war and that the human person is absolutely free.
