Personal Review of John Keats
...hments. When he was only eight years old, his father died, and his mother left him and his siblings. He basically had to take care of them when they were little and up until he died. He was removed from school and started out his career as an apprentice for a man named Thomas Hammond, who was an apothecary and a surgeon. He had always wanted to be a surgeon, so he enrolled himself into Guy’s Hospital. Not long after that, he had his first publication. It was with this publication that started to turn his head from surgery school to writing. Once he had his first poem written and published in 1814, it had only begun. He continued with his first volume in March of 1817. In September of that same year, he wrote one Gordon 2 of his more famous poems, Endymion. With all of the writing he did, he also did a lot of traveling. He traveled through northern England, Scotland, and also to Margate on the coast to write. Not only did he write poems, but he was also very well educated in writing plays, one for example is Champion. Reconsideration of his whole career came to surface in the year 1818. He totally devoted his time to writing plays, poems, and Shakespearean sonnets. One of his most famous poems written in 1819 was “The Eve of St. Agnes.” I can really relate to this poem because it talks about meeting the one you love in a dream. It might sound weird, but I have met the one I love in a dream I have had. He was not exactly what I pictured but the most important qualities that most females look for were the same in person as they were in my dream. Currently he is my ex-boyfriend, but I know that we will get back together because I feel so strongly about him. I can truly speak of my enjoyment in this research.
