...is first dance, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The bad things that happen to Charlie, are heartbreak, betrayal, sex and drugs. Only one thing can make him feel infinite, that one tunnel with the perfect song on that one perfect drive. Mixed in between all these new experiences are the new and interesting people who make the journey so much easier to handle. Charlie is a very interesting character. We learn that after his aunt’s death, he become very depressed and must seek counseling. This is very important in the story line. The two main females in this book are his sister and a girl named Sam. Charlie is in love with Sam but since he isn’t a forward he doesn’t try anything and rather love her from afar. He also learns from his sister, that everyone deserves to be loved, even though she thinks she doesn’t and allows guys to slap and abuse her. On of the more important male roles is Patrick, Sam’s brother. Patrick is a very important person in Charlie’s growing up because Patrick has some of his own growing up to do.
