Eliot Ness was hire by the department of justice to run Chicago's prohibition bureau. Ness's job was to take down Al Capone to stop the flow of illegal liquor. In the movie Ness along with 3 other men (the "untouchables") had the tough job of taking Al Capone down. The one guy was an accountant and he figured out that Al Capone wasn't filing proper tax returns. With this information they could put Capone in jail. Ness and his men made a big liquor bust at the Canadian border with the help of the Canadian law enforcements. Here Ness recovered the banking book of Capone's organization. With this they had proof and could put Al Capone away. During Capone's trial a man named Frank Nitty came and gave something to Capone, and he had a gun. Ness escorted him out of the courtroom and Nitty shot a security guard. Ness chased him and they got into a shootout and Nitty was killed. Ness found out that Capone had paid the jury and judge off so Ness blackmailed the judge so they got a new jury. With the new jury Capone was convicted of income tax evasion. A riot broke out in the courtroom just as the trial was ending and Capone was taken to jail. 3 I really enjoyed this film. It was both entertaining and educational.
