...ling, fighting and general lawlessness. Dallas adopted this gangland lifestyle by default because of having no parental guidance. Societyfs inability to provide a substitute for parental guidance meant Dallas would become exactly what society doesnft approve of. All children need outlets for their anxiety, and for Dallas this outlet was fighting. Fighting was a way for Dallas to blow off steam and eradicate the anxiety that his lifestyle and societyfs boundaries placed on him. If Dallas was not fighting to deal with his stress he turned to alcohol to deal with his problems. Society might view an acceptable way to blow off steam as possibly going for a run, or to the gym to alleviate stress. Once again, societyfs inability to provide suitable guidance and coping mechanisms via parental figures left Dallas without appropriate role models and examples from which to learn how to cope with his internal turmoil. For most of society making people feel insignificant is easily accomplished through insults and verbal abuse. Dallas frequently degraded or verbally abused everyone around him. This behaviour is indicative of someone that is very insecure in the world and who feels the need to put others down while superficially making themselves feel better. This behavior is a symptom of the deep unhappiness they feel within themselves. Society through its inability to provide nurturing care for Dallas has left him feeling alone and unvalued. As such, Dallas has created a mental wall to protect himself. His verbal lashing serve to make him appear stronger and more resilient to those around him. Dallas has fooled himself into thinking hefs happy. Most kids Dallasf age have suitable hobbies with which to occupy themselves. Many kids race BMX, skateboard or play video games, yet Dallas takes pleasure in jumping people and stealing from them.
