...because of the hardships of ruling the kingdom and by seeing the “evil and hate of man” (pg 543). Because of Arthur’s depth and perception he is able to see past the flaws of man while still “suffering from violent emotions” (pg 385) toward some of the lands and there ways of ruling because they take opposite paths such as ruling by might over right. In the end the failures and triumphs of Arthur’s kingdom are all based on his unique way of ruling. Throughout the book the ends seem to always justify the means, whether it is a war being won or a kingdom being shattered. Arthur demonstrates this conjecture many times although he is frequently on both sides both “winning” and “losing”. When Arthur seems to be enamored with “some sorts of education” (pg 74) he forgets his reason for being transformed and becomes “miserable, (it seems that) nobody wants him for anything” (pg74). There’s a growth process that takes place in the book. Arthur first gets engaged in being turned into animals, although he is learning, there is almost an addiction with this new found amusement that will eventually cease. Arthur makes a choice to “rule by right verses might"(pg154). This choice makes his people better and his kingdom more glorified because it sets a benevolent example. For the good decisions he makes there is a good outcome and his country becomes stronger. Dejectedly Arthur does not only make good decisions.
