The cell wall and nucleus are visible in the onion cell. Also the nucleolus and nucleus membrane are visible. In the elodea cell, the cell wall and the chloroplasts are visible. 2. 3. 4. Chloroplast weren't present in the onion cell, however they were present in the elodea left cell. The reason why chloroplasts were not evident in the part of the onion examined because it doesn't photosynthesise as it grows in the ground. Chloroplasts are found in the elodea leaf as the plant uses light to grow. 5. Yes, the cells were easily observed in the onion and elodea cells. 6. Indeed the iodine stain improved the definition in the slide as we attempted to view the onion cell with out it and found it unclear.
