Bemis stresses that if nurses implement the nursing process each day, the skills will remain fresh in mind and will come naturally. Bemis goes on to discuss how the nursing process can be used in an emergency situation. She goes on to say “the steps and descriptive terms are so familiar to me that I can perform them flawlessly and communicate them clearly” (Bemis, 2001).
