...y COMPLETED late assignment within 24 hours. I will note in my grade book that the work was completed, although it will receive no credit. However, at the end of each term, if the student has completed ALL assignments, as per the above requirements, his/her grade will be raised 3% above his/her calculated percentage. (Pretty cool, eh?) HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS All work is to be written in black or blue ballpoint pen or pencil only. All work is to be written in complete sentences. When calculated answers are required, all work will be shown. All work must be legible. Unless specific instructions are given for a group assignment, all work is expected to be completed solely by you – no sharing of information. NOTES Students are expected to take notes from all lectures. Since this course has no textbook, the notes are the best resource you will have the night before the tests. QUIZZES AND TESTS Short oral daily quizzes can be expected. They will cover the previous days’ material and usually will be 5 to 20 questions in length. Tests will be objective, consisting of multiple choice, true/false, and matching sections. Since Scan-Tron forms may be used, students are required to bring #2 pencils. If absent on a test day, the student is expected to take the test upon the day of their return, either in- class, during lunch, or after school. LABORATORY EXPERIMENTS All lab reports are to be written in black or blue ballpoint pen, pencil, or typed. They are to be completed in acceptable form. If absent on the day of a lab, the lab will be made-up after school only. Incomplete labs (or those not showing calculations) will receive no credit. All labs are to be written legibly. You are each responsible for your own reports – sharing of information, calculations, answers, etc. is inappropriate. FINAL EXAMS A cumulative exam will be given each semester. The exam will count as 20% of the semester grade. Each quarter grade will count as 40% of the semester grade. In order to pass the semester, the student MUST pass 2 of these 3 grades and have an average for these 3 grades over 60% in total. ABSENCES/TARDIES Course work may be made-up for excused (called) absences only. It is the responsibility of the student to consult with the teacher regarding missed work. All work is to be completed in a timely fashion, as per the Student Handbook. Extensions may be granted in the case of labs, due to the fact they may only be made-up after school. Please be aware that I take a very dim view of skipping class and/or being tardy to class. Students who skip and/or are tardy to class can expect consequences for their actions. In addition to the attendance consequence that reflects upon your academic grade, “skippers” can expect disciplinary action that involves a trip to their favorite administrator. Since tardies disrup...
