Nike’s market is just about anyone, young to old, their market is anyone with two legs. • Product Positioning/Product Analysis Nike is at a much higher level than many of their competitors. Neither Adidas nor Reebok are as big as Nike. Nike is known world wide. Many people only prefer to wear Nike. But then there are people that will only wear Adidas or wear Reebok. But that number is not as big as those who wear Nike. The fact that many athletes, famous athletes, wear Nike, many people believe that Nike is the best and that one day they will be as good as these famous athlete’s. The message of, “If you have a body, you are an athlete” is a good message to everyone. They don’t just specialize to people who play sports, but to anyone with two legs, two arms, etc. There marketing strategy has changed to focus anyone who can read and watch TV to know that Nike is out there and makes gym shoes. Shoes that people all over the world use, shoes for shopping and for sports. • Pricing Analysis Nike’s shoes are just about the same price as there competitors. Adidas and Reebok price there shoes just about the same. Nike’s most expensive shoes are mainly the big name shoes, example: Air Jordan. Since Michael Jordan is a big athlete they know that they can make some money off of his name brand shoes and they do. Plus also that fact that Michael gets part of the profit they are more expensive. Since their will always be athlete’s Nike will have the opportunity to price there shoes as they please.
