...as they get off the train a guard yells, "Men to the left! Women to the right." HE doesn't know it them but that would be the last time he'll ever see his mother and his sister forever. As he thinks back upon the time he says: "Eight words spoken quietly, indifferently, without emotion, Eight short, simple words. Yet that was the moment when I parted from my mother." Previous to that I culdn't wait to leave my mothers' house but after reading that I culdn't imagine a separation such as that one and , how devasted I would be. I don't know how Elie coped as ell as he did after that meoment. Throughout NIght, there are many incidences of internal conflicts. One character who has a touch struggle between personal desires and responsibilities is Elie. The end is so near but, Elie feels as if he can't carry on for both him and his ffather.
