The pre-season gives teams a chance to try out different combinations of players as well as see some of the skills they possess out on the field, yet the players still do not have a guaranteed spot on the team. The pre-season consists of five or six games depending on the team. Most of the time all the "big name" players do not play in these games for fear of a severe injury that will side line them for most or perhaps all of the regular season. After the pre-season comes the regular season, when most of the games are played. This consists of thirty-two teams playing sixteen games each, with two weeks off the during the year. The best two teams’ records win home field advantage during the entire playoffs and the four best teams’ records in each conference also make it to the playoffs. When all of the regular season games are done and the regular season records are final, then comes the playoffs. During this time, the teams with the best records watch the first two games in each conference. The winner of the first two games play one of the two teams with a bye. They play until there are only two teams left in each conference. Finally, the last two games are played to determine each division champion. The Super Bowl, every football player's dream, is the last and final game of the season. The game is played between the two divisional champions. If a player gets lucky enough, his team will get to play in one of the biggest and most televised games ...
