...tremely easy to read and understand. The charts also saved a lot of time and complication where reading about statistics would have been painstaking. All in all, the use of graphics works very well in this issue of the Tribune. All of the graphics are very professional and clean looking, while at the same time able to summarize and allow the reader to visualize the text in the column. As for special pages, the one that caught my attention the most would have to be the “Career Builder” page. I found it interesting that the Tribune used a different font for the flag as well as having the text in color as opposed to the black text that is used on all of the other sections in the paper. The use of bold text was very effective in getting my attention. For someone who does not have the time to sit and read trough the entire paper, the bold and different sized headlines made it easy to decide which articles to read. Also, the stories that were jumped to another page were easy to find, except for the few that had a couple of pages of advertisements between the stories. One thing I noticed was that there was not too many lifted quotes, but I realize that some stories do not have any quotes in them; therefore not requiring the use of lifted quotes. All of the margins were consistent for the most part throughout the entire paper. And for those pages that did not have consistent margins, the use of rules and boxes made it easy to know which text belonged to which story. All of the bylines were effective in showing the reader who wrote the story because they were located in bold text usually directly below the headline. The front page did an exceptional job of getting my attention through the use of interesting headlines. Since the paper was published a few days after the anniversary of the September 11th events, most of the front-page material pertained to topics concerning just that. All of the sidebars were effective because they covered topics concerning a few semi-related events to the September 11th tragedy. Though plenty of the front-page material was related to the terrorist attacks, there were still a variety of stories that covered a multitude of other events going on. One criticism that I had about the fro...
