...d for chutzpah in Arabic, Amr Moussa must know it." Stuttaford mocks Moussa as an Arab that doesn't know what arrogance is in Arabic, and shows in some ways that he doubts the fact that the word actually exists in the language. Not only does Stuttaford mock Moussa as a person and diplomat, he also mocks his language. When Moussa refers to Berlusconi's quotation, he said that it was "dangerous" and "unacceptable". Stuttaford uses these two adjectives to say that, "They are the language of the secret policemen, not the rhetoric of democracy." Through the use of this sarcastic tone, not only does Stuttaford increase his personal credibility as a critic, but he portrays himself as superior in support of Berlusconi. He also undermines Moussa to show how absurd he is. It is credible that by talking down to his opposition and using such a tone of mockery, Stuttaford is able to strengthen his personal position in the argument, which not everyone agrees with. In reference to what seems to be an insult to Moussa's intelligence, Romano Prodi, European Commission President said that "Italy is a Mediterranean basin country and good neighborly relations are important, comprehension and cultural interpenetration with the Islamic world is right and fundamental to peace for today and tomorrow" (Nacheman). This shows Berlusconi, with all respect, as being an extremely foolish politician for making his speech and insisting on its correctness. Also, in support for Berlusconi not being such a good politician, it was mentioned in the English-language Bahrain Tribune editorial that the comments Berlusconi made "prove that the man is shallow and racist and does not merit the post he is holding" (Schmetzer). When considering Bahrain, one needs to know that the country is a base for one of the U.S Navy's Fleets and is a loyal supporter of the country. Moussa might have made a mistake about calling Berlusconi racist and accusing the West of racism because he didn’t take into consideration current events such as the Sudanese Civil War between Muslims and Christians. Well, according to Nacheman, his article "Prodi seeks to distance EU from Berlusconi remarks on Islam", he says that "the Egyptian government said it 'deeply deplores' Berlusconi's remarks, calling them 'chauvinistic, fascist and repugnant." Also, it was noted by Schmetzer that "Former Prime Minister Massimo D'Alema described Berlusconi's remark as 'a grave error' and 'a racist comment," which supports Moussa for calling Berlusconi racist. Stuttaford also uses a quotation from the Arab League's website against Moussa to show Moussa his weaknesses and to show him how he is a hypocrite. "These Muslim believers were not merely conquerors. They rapidly established a new and dynamic civilization that for centuries was the only bright light in an otherwise culturally and intellectual stagnant world" (Stuttaford). What Stuttaford might fail to notice is that even Berlusconi did something very similar to Moussa. In a conversation with a Senate in Rome, Berlusconi said "We are conscious of the crucial role of the modern Arab countries," and he especially made note of their role in resolving the conflict in the Middle East (Nacheman). Also, preceding Berlusconi's speech, his spokesman defended him by saying that Berlusconi could not "be accused of insulting Islam after having 'fought for the participation of moderate Arab countries in the alliance against terrorism' and called for a solution to the crisis in the Middle East" (Schmetzer). Take a glance at how Stuttaford's "superiors" have learned a lot from the Muslims he attacks. As a start, the field of mathematics upon which almost everything in this world is based upon was first discovered and used by them. If it were not for Islamic mathematicians developing algebra, the European mathematicians might have failed to recognize and develop "zero", a mathematical expression for nothing,. Philosophers such as Ibn Sina and Averroes introduced many of the Christian philosophers to the ancient world. Christian doctors have learned a lot about...
