National Socialism

...control every aspect of its citizens lives. National Socialism was composed of all of these things, but all that is really needed to know is that “Violence” was the key to the National Socialist ways. I believe that National Socialism was the one secular idea that had the most impact on the 20th century world because of its “bloody legacy”. I believe that due to the violent nature of this idea, that it is most remembered and most influential in today’s society. As a kid growing up, I heard all about communism, and liberalism and other secular ideas, but the only one that ever concerned me and everybody else I knew was that of the Nazi’s and their National Socialist ideas. The fact that one party can be so harmful to other human beings just to achieve that power and state that they want to be in is disturbing to any human being, and this is why I believe it has had so much impact in our society. Everywhere you go in the world, most everybody knows about Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party, and all of the horrible things that they did. Worldwide economic depression was the trigger for Adolf Hitler to start the party of National Socialists. Movies, books, and other sources bring you back to this tragic time period and share with you in grave detail the treatment of these people, just because they were of a different race and religion. Hitler’s ideas were so twisted and violent, I don’t see how one could say that this idea didn’t have the biggest impact in our world. Never has there been, and its very probable that there will never another group with more violent, racist, and selfish views than that of the National Socialists. World War II was the greatest war in the world’s history. No other war has had the number of casualties, and impact on certain groups, than that of World War II and this is all due to National Socialism. World War II was also known as the “Total War”, because it involved the entire populations and economies of the nations that fought in it. “The distinction between military and civilian disappeared. Non-combatants were bombed and killed on both sides. It is estimated that about 45 million people died, 30 million of them civilians. The heaviest fighting was in the Soviet Union, which lost more people than any other country.”(Spodek 611) This quote clearly states that Wor...
