This is aimed at coaches working with 11-16 year olds. Coaches can then progress to take the UEFA. Provision or Pathways for the elite performer The MSR try to provide a pathway for performers from playground to podium. The MSR have set up TOPS, this is for primary schools and is a small amount of equipment to help enhance the skills of performers. This equipment comes with easy to read instructions and build up the skills gradually. This will means the ability of these primary school performers will be higher for secondary school level. This will allow a higher chance for elite performers to reach a higher level. The Secondary schools try to use as many of the facilities available as possible. For example synthetic pitches and National Sports Centres are used to the full. The MSR set up the Active Sports programme to try and promote school and local club links. With more secondary level skill enhancement elite performers will be more able to achieve club or even national level. The Isle of Man has many football leagues ranging from under 8 year olds to the top men and women’s leagues. There are also Island teams for all of the age groups. There are clubs for each town or village on the island and all compete in the leagues Additional agencies and bodies The Manx Football Association provide funding for matches, coach education, refereeing and officiating and equipment. The Sports Council provide the FA with a grant each year for: Travel Grants for teams going overseas or for coaches go to different fixtures. Coaching/Officiating for the paying of referees and the training of coaches. Equipment grants so that clubs and MSR run programs can be provided with the latest equipment. Sports Loans are for the payment of sport costs related to sport for individual performers. Sports ground development is for the development of new sports or to increase participation. Sport club improvement schemes are funding to help clubs set up or to upgrade the quality of training and equipment. Sport clubs development loans are to help sports clubs to increase their standard. Special funding for people with disabilities, help people by creating special programs and equipment or clubs. Sports aid foundation is a general funding for all sports and sportspersons.
