It was at a community clinic, when I took my children to be immunized, that my life changed forever. I met a nurse at this clinic, who gave me advice and showed me how I could learn English by attending ESL classes in the evening at an elementary school after work. I took classes in the evening and practiced at home with my children how to speak English. I had to learn English in order to survive, and go to college to earn a better living for my children and myself.
