...ra class, and my Environmental Science class was the same as my high school Earth Science class. The only difference was that this time I was paying for the classes. The classes just weren’t challenging enough. In most classes, with few exceptions, every student was able to get an A if his study habits were lazy. Even if a student neglected his duties or assignments, he could still get a B as a final grade. It seemed that students tended to lose their enthusiasm and confidence for pursuing careers because teachers didn’t give them a good method of learning. In my Marketing class, for example, the teacher didn’t give the students lectures at all. All I did in each class was answer 25 multiple choice questions in a marketing booklet, which was passed out in the beginning of the class, and checked in a group. The teacher was just stood in front of his desk and monitored the students. It would not too much to say that the class was more for the teacher’s fulfillment than that of the students’. Furthermore, most teachers at my college didn’t seem to care about their students or even want to be there. If a student never showed up for a class the teacher didn’t seem to care. Thus, the students that never showed up for the class could still earn an A for a final grade. Pointless busy work was assigned unnecessarily.
