So improve my search techniques I need to know how each search engine works. I’m using MLA Style in this article. So much information, so little time The three key points we need to be aware for effective search on the internet are listed below 1. So much information is available on the WWW but one may not retrieve same and complete results using various search engines. 2. The key tools to measure the effectiveness of information retrieval are • Recall and • Precision 3. Various Search Engines use different search databases to retrieve data. And they might also differ in look & feel, the frequency with which the update their databases etc. The two critical questions one should ask are listed below 1. Do we ever suspect the accuracy, precision & quality of the information we get from search engines and 2. Secondly, why do we get different results when we search the WWW?
