My Favorite Bird
...barber laughed "But it's a lot of work, and money." he said. "Don't worry I'll do everything." I said "Well ok then." he said. My mom just shook her head. I was so happy that I got my parrot that I did not even think of what I got myself into. It turned out that we couldn't just take the parrot home, we had to buy things that he needed first. So we spent the day in a pet store. We bought a new cage, bird food, toys for the cage, bath dish, among others. It came out to a very large some. Unfortunately I had to fulfill my promise and give up the birthday money I saved up for a bike to pay for the stuff. And then the preparations continued. We had to puttogether a new home for the parrot. All of the things that we bought for it ended up needing assembly. And with a little help from my mom, I cleaned up a corner of my room, organized the items, and began to assemble the cage, pour the water, hang up the toys, etc. When I finally snapped the lid of the cage shut, we had to bird-proof the house. We put away all valuables, covered all of the shelves put away anything sharp or in anyway harmful to the bird, and we were finally ready for the bird. As soon as we brought the parrot into the house he was upset. He just sat inside the cage and did not even open his mouth. I took out his dish and went to put some new food in it, thinking that it might have allready spoiled. When I came back I saw him flying around the apartment. I tried frantically to catch it with a bag, but it kept flying out of my reach. Finally I was so tired that I could barely move, I was vowing to return it if I ever caught it. Then my mother came in. "Had enough yet?" she asked. "Yes" ...
