My Dog Radar

... mom wanted to get rid of Radar, because we didn’t have enough room for three dogs. I had already grown really attached to Radar and couldn’t let my mom get rid of her. I didn’t know what to do, so I called my dad and asked if I could keep Radar at his house, he said “okay”. So we moved her to my dad’s house. I visited her every weekend. She was so smart and loved to play tetherball. I loved the time we spent together. One weekend I went to my dads, Radar looked much skinnier than normal. “She won’t keep any food down,” my dad said. I tried to feed her some wet dog food, but she wouldn’t eat it. We took her to the vet right away. They took her in, and kept her over night. It wasn’t the same around the house without Radar there. The vet said they would call the next morning. I was pacing around the house waiting for that call all morning. The phone finally rung, which seemed to take hours. They said they didn’t know what was wrong with her but they got her to eat. So we went to pick her up and they told us we would have to force-feed her. We would have to mash up her food and force her to eat it. It was heartbreaking for me to force feed her, but she needs to live and gain some weight. Most of the time she would just throw it up, but sometimes she would keep it down. She slowly got worse and worse. My mom said she would take her back to see if Yukon could cheer her up or see if different surroundings would help, but it didn’t. My last attempt was to see if she would eat a hamburger patty; she wouldn’t, right then I just collapsed and cried. I knew she wasn’t going to make it. My mom told me to have hope and take her back to the doctors; maybe they can figure it out this time.
