My grandad passed away a few years ago leaving my grandma a widow, my uncle that was my dad’s elder brother also died a few years ago leaving his wife a widow. My dad has two brothers, three sisters, and one late brother. My dad is a qualified accountant in Ghana. I did not really know about my mum’s parents since they died while my mum was a young adult but I do know that my mum has one brother and three sisters. My granddad and my grandma were both qualified teachers in Ghana. My mum is a qualified nursery teacher. I feel that I am fully Ghanaian because I was born in Ghana, speak a little bit of the language and also because my parents tell me a lot about our home country and its history. My country got their independence from late Kwame Nkrumah. My country used to be called the Gold Coast until 6th March 1957 when Kwame Nkrumah got us independence.
