My Boy Scout Vacation
...d went to the port for the ship?s boarding. Once again we needed to wait in line, a two-hour line, for immigration since we were taking the trip to Seward, Alaska. This may seem agonizing but it all paid off when we got on the ship. Although we needed to go on a preliminary safety procedure we were able to go relax for a long period of time. My family and I then went to dinner where we were treated to exquisite service and gourmet foods. We spent the following day at sea so my brothers and I decided to explore the vast interior of the ship. I met a few people and someone who would be attending camp with me soon after the cruise. The next day we arrived in Ketchikan where we went to two museums but had to arrive on the boat sooner then thought because of torrential winds. The next day the boat arrived in Juneau where my mother and brother, Ron; went on a whale-watching trip. On the boat we saw a huge humpback whale swimming and then we saw a baby humpback with its mother. The next day the boat docked in Skagway. The whole family went on a train ride that explained the history of the town. We saw many sites such as tunnels and the historic route miners took during the Klondike Gold Rush. When we got on the boat we relaxed until late at night we went to a comedy show. It was extremely entertaining to watch the comedian who made many new jokes. The next two days were spent at sea. The boat was traveling through Glacier Bay and College Fjord. They were remarkable site. I saw man glaciers and the beautiful fjord took my breath away. On Friday, the final night, I went to see the ship?s comedy night, Friday Night Live, which featured...
