I view this as cruel, for someone to undergo this procedure just to be accepted by society seems unjust. I believe that a child should be able to live his life the way he was supposed to and this is by the way he was born. Our society needs to come to the realization that our world is composed of people that don’t fit into either male or female groupings. Another reason for my belief is people who don’t believe to be one or the other sex. They feel they belong somewhere between the two sexes. The reason I agree with these people is because they believe this strongly and who are we as a society to deem this as wrong? We cannot govern what people are allowed to believe about their bodies and their lives. These people should be able to live their lives as they choose and not have societies beliefs imposed onto them. Our society needs to embrace this idea of more than two genders, many people see this as a negative thing but this growth should be perceived as a positive change. Change is good and for the better. On the other hand of this argument, many people believe this notion as to be wrong. These people believe that intersexual is illegitimate. Their view is that there are two genders and that is the bottom line. A main reason for their belief is that they believe that hermaphroditism is a biological disorder and not a basis for another gender group.
