...p warm. Now being married she had to look after an entire household and the two children they had. Since they were so far from civilization her husband was the one every one went to for help being medical or law etcetera. She was used to having help at hand as in the city she was used to but here it was her husband that every one relied on for any kind of help and she knew he had little experience in helping to solve any ones problems, which wasn't much of a comfort to her. Boston was basically a white community who spoke English but in the mountains she was one of the only white women. All of the women there were Indian and didn't speak her language so she had no one to just talk to but her husband who worked around the clock. Getting his attention was not so easy all the time. Katherine, at one point, got really fed up with the life style she now possessed and wanted to just go return to her home and reunite with her mother again. She left her husband alone and took a train back to Boston. She enjoyed the civilization there and her family's company. There she went to plays and shows. She enjoyed the warmer weather and wore skirts again. She didn't have to care for a household anymore and didn't have many responsibilities.
